President
Alan Hoffmann is the founder of Hoffmann Homes, a Dallas-based builder specializing in resilient, energy-efficient, and high-performance custom homes and communities.
He holds the professional designations of Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) and Certified Green Professional (CGP) through the National Association of Home Builders.
Over more than 30 years in homebuilding, Alan has been recognized as an early leader in sustainable and resilient residential construction, bringing a number of industry firsts to North Texas.
In 1995, he became the first builder to introduce Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction to North Texas and the first homebuilder in the region to use the system for the exterior walls of a single-family residence. Hoffmann Homes would later go on to build some of the first ICF homes in Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Terrell, Gunter, Lake Whitney, Rockwall, Oak Point, Flower Mound, and Kerens, Texas.
Hoffmann Homes also designed and built the first two homes certified under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes program in Dallas. Those projects became the first LEED Platinum certified homes in the city and helped establish a new benchmark for high-performance residential construction in the region.
Alan and his work have been recognized by D Magazine, including a feature in the special edition “Dallas Goes Green,” which highlighted individuals helping shape a more sustainable and thoughtful future for the city.
In addition to his work as a builder and developer, Alan has remained active in industry leadership and professional organizations. He served as President of the Dallas Builders Association from 2017–2018 and has also served as Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee for the Texas Association of Builders.
At the national level, Alan has participated on the Leadership Council and Building Systems Council for the National Association of Home Builders. He also served the City of Dallas on its Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee as Technical Building Advisor.
Today, Alan continues to focus on designing and building resilient homes and thoughtfully planned communities throughout North Texas, with an emphasis on durability, energy efficiency, healthier living environments, and long-term sustainability.
