Hoffmann Homes wins Housing and Communities Award from the DFW Urban Land Institute

Hoffmann Homes wins Housing and Communities Award from the DFW Urban Land Institute for Abode @ White Rock.

Abode @ White Rock consists of eight single family homes arranged around a shared pedestrian-oriented mews and a central pocket park. The project required only plat approval and proceeded without entitlement negotiations, zoning changes, or public hearings. By embracing the City’s shared access provisions, the development aligned with neighborhood scale and character while expanding high quality housing supply.

Resilience was the organizing principle throughout the project, from site planning and building orientation to construction systems, water infrastructure, energy performance, and social design. Each home is constructed using Insulated Concrete Form wall systems and includes a combined safe room and pantry. Homes are designed to Department of Energy Net Zero Ready standards, are ENERGY STAR certified, and prioritize indoor air quality, water efficiency, and long-term habitability.

The Urban Land Institute is a nonprofit education and research institute supported by its members. ULI’s mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in sustaining and creating thriving communities worldwide. Established in 1936, the Institute has more than 48,000 members worldwide and over 1,350 members in North Texas, representing a wide range of land use and development professions.”
